of thwarting danger. Here is a list of the five best safety mobile apps that will help you feel safe this festive season.

VithU App - VithU is an emergency app, which can be activated by using the phone's power button twice. After clicking the power button two times, it begins to send out alert messages every two minutes to the list of contacts that have been fed by the user as designated receivers. bSafe - A personal safety app, bSafe lets the user’s emergency contacts follow him/her through a live GPS trail. One can also set a timed alarm that goes off if the phone owner hasn't 'checked in' or the user can make his/her phone ring with a fake call. Raksha - This app allows the subscriber's dear and near ones to know the location of the user, with just the press of a button. Selected contacts can view the user’s location who, in turn, can ask people on the selected list to share their location. Nirbhaya - It works on the same basic principle as the other apps with some additional features. Nirbhaya enables you to send messages with location updates to predefined SMS contact groups, in the form of an SOS message, phone call or a Facebook pos. SOS - You need to press the power button thrice in succession and the app would send an emergency message to friends and family along with the user’s location.
