New Delhi, April 29th 2017: Suneet Varma in association with DLF Emporio and Swarovski presented his Couture 2017 collection titled “The Shining Star” at DLF Emporio, India’s first and finest luxury destination.

The SV couture collection for this season focused on western silhouettes and the traditional craftsmanship of couture. The shapes and forms of the 40 piece collection took inspiration from Gowns from Hollywood glamour from a bygone era and married them with the modern techniques of embellishment, corsetry and styling.

The collection was divided into four groups - Feminine Ideals, Satin Sirens, Post Modern Glamour and Freedom & Fantasy each with its own inspiration, fabric and detailing.

Says Suneet Varma,” I believe Fashion is the politest way of speaking about sex- But I like the subtle unspoken word, left to the imagination of the wearer. The glamour and sensuality in this collection comes through the use of sheer and lucid fabrics, the delicate placement of embellishments, the drapes and the unexpected details- and what they reveal or conceal. Evening couture is like a sixth sense of seduction. It has its own vocabulary and language, like an elaborate braid entwined with history, myth and tradition. It may be modern, Whimsical or demure- but always magnificent like a Shining Star.“
